Crane Pumps & Systems Partners With The Salvation Army

As of June, the Piqua chapter of The Salvation Army has kicked off their 2019 Summer Feeding Program, one of the several local programs supported by Crane Pumps & Systems. The Feeding Program begins on the first full week after the last day of the school year and runs throughout the summer until school is back in session. During the Summer Feeding Program, the Salvation Army food truck delivers free meals, Monday through Friday, to children at multiple locations throughout Piqua, Ohio. The Food Truck makes stops at six local parks in town as well as providing meals at the Salvation Army building to children that live within walking distance. Five employees from Crane Pumps & Systems volunteer each Thursday throughout the Summer season to help cook, transport and deliver the meals to children. The food truck feeds between 150 and 200 children daily.

Each Friday while the food truck is delivering lunches to children the Salvation Army also supplies each child with canned food items to ensure they have food available to them over the weekend. This week, Crane Pumps & Systems held a food drive internally to provide the Salvation Army with canned items to give the community each Friday. With both manufacturing and office facilities located in Piqua, OH, Crane Pumps & System considers participation with this program as an opportunity to directly serve and make an impact in the local community. Philanthropic involvement was an important principle to Crane’s founder R.T. Crane and the associates of Crane Pumps continue to make it a priority today.
